DEI Committee Guiding Principles
- Proactively practice and support our core principles at Vestar and our portfolio companies
- Provide economic resources and encourage employee volunteerism in support of these principles
- Increase awareness and education among our employees and business partners
- Regularly examine and scrutinize how we do business to ensure we are operating consistently with these principles
Putting Our Beliefs into Action
At Vestar we are continuously seeking ways to be more inclusive and equitable. Some examples include:
- Regular firmwide training on DEI issues such as overcoming unconscious bias
- Adjusting our recruiting processes to enable greater access for BIPOC candidates to join us both as interns and full time
- Regularly surveying our employees on the progress we are making in creating and sustaining an inclusive workplace culture
- Sponsoring regular firmwide DEI speakers and DEI-focused book and other media discussions to enable us to continue to listen and learn
- Becoming a signatory to ILPA’s Diversity in Action initiative
Charitable Giving and Corporate Matching
Vestar has established a foundation focused on relationship building and financial sponsorship for organizations that support causes related to education, social justice, policing, health, and legal defense funds.
Additionally, Vestar’s corporate match program supports individual team members in their charitable donations to eligible organizations by matching donations dollar for dollar.
Vestar in the Community
Vestar has teamed with SuitUp to work with students in underserved communities to promote college and career awareness and preparedness through innovative business competitions led by our employees.
We also encourage our employees to take Vestar volunteer days to provide services to organizations that align with our core principles.
